Daisy Socks

Two socks, and only one of them gets the sunflower.

The sunflower one

Nearly the whole leg goes to a single flower: rust at the petal tips, gold coming in behind them, and a pale button of a middle spotted all over with gold inside an orange ring. Below that, white daisies with amber centres press in around one terracotta poppy, its eye pale green inside a fine ring of dark stamens, and a ribbed poppy pod stands away on its own stalk. Sage stems wander between the lot of them and finish in spirals.

And the one that got the rest of the meadow

Its partner has no sunflower anywhere on it. Teal cornflowers with scaly buds, more daisies, two poppies with one of them shading red into gold, and small orange berries threaded onto stems that hook over at the ends. Behind all of it, on both socks, the denim blue is carrying ferns and leaves a shade deeper than itself, which is the part you find on the second wearing, not the first.

Toe black, heel black, and the blue carries right up over the cuff, so there is colour above the shoe line as well as under it. Women's, one size; the size menu has a single line on it. Every pair goes to print after somebody has asked for it, which is why you will still find this one here next month, and why yours, five to ten working days in the making, has had exactly one owner.
