Lotus Leather Boots

One lotus opened, one lotus rising.

The ground is wine, a deep and slightly cool burgundy, with a mandala printed into it one tone darker — gathered behind the shaft, wrapping the heel, covering the tongue, breaking into a scalloped band across the vamp just behind the toe. It reads like henna on skin. You see it when the light moves.

The open flower

One boot carries a large lotus roughly halfway up the shaft: three layers of petals turning cream at the tip and blush at the base, each petal edged with a thin gold line and veined in gold inside. At its centre sits a gold seed pod, dotted, half hidden behind a petal leaning in front of it. Two sprays of sage leaves fan to either side. A few petals have come loose and float above the bloom, and gold sparks fill the space around them.

The rising one

The other boot draws the same flower smaller and off balance on purpose — cream and blush petals to the upper left, a sage leaf pushing through the middle, a dusty plum petal dropping to the lower right. It stands on a gold unalome. Read that from the bottom: a spiral of about two and a half turns, then two rows of interlocking loops like ribbon laid over itself, then a single line running up past the flower and continuing. Blush petals fall around it, with gold dots and sparks filling in.

The toes

Both toe caps take a lotus drawn in gold line, none of it filled, so the wine shows straight through the petals — four-point sparks above and out to the sides. It is the quietest thing on the boot and the first thing anyone sees at ground level.

What it is made of, and how you order it

The upper comes two ways. Premium Vegan Leather is microfiber, satin-faced and tight in the grain, which suits a colour this saturated: wine stays even across the panels and the pressed mandala keeps its edge. Top Grain Leather is the animal one — denser to hold, and it gradually takes on whoever is wearing it. Either way the artwork lies beneath a water-based topcoat; the practical result is a box you can open at the kitchen table.

The rest is plain. Black round laces, gunmetal eyelets, black webbing loops to haul them on. A black midsole edge over gum-brown tread, cemented with heat and pressure. Cushioned foam within, removable in one piece. Sizes start at a US 4.5 and finish at a 14 with no half step skipped, in Standard or in Wide — Wide keeping length and toe box untouched and adding 13 mm more circumference through the ball, the arch and the instep, so the move is to order the number you always order and change only the fit.
