Celeste Winter Boots

The lotus goes on the toe, where you will actually see it.

It opens right across the front of each boot in gold line work, petal over petal, wide enough that you catch it every time you look down. Above it the shaft turns into night: the gold sun with its human face, eyes open, held against the silver crescent whose own face has closed; a small arc of moon phases climbing past them; a dreamcatcher underneath, its feathers falling in gold and silver. Around the back and up toward the collar the sky goes quieter and fills with constellations, gold dots joined in fine lines, with a scatter of loose stars between them. A mandala runs under all of it, a shade deeper than the sky. It comes forward at the ankle when the light catches.

How the boot is put together

• Cream trim around the collar — a deep soft band circling the top of each boot, cream against all that navy, so it frames your ankle instead of swallowing it
• Padded on the inside — a soft layer built in behind the lining of each boot, and that is where the warmth comes from
• Black lugged sole — thick, squared at the edge, and cut into deep cleats underneath
• The lacing — two closed studs sit above five open eyelets on every row, with black laces running through
• Round toe — cut round and blunt at the front, which is also what gives the lotus somewhere to open out across

Nothing missing from the size run

It runs US 4.5 to 14, and none of the halves are missing. If your size has spent years being called "an in-between", it is not in between anything here — it is just a size, and it is on the list.

No pair exists before somebody orders it. That is the reason the whole range is always open to you, whatever size you take, and the reason there is a wait between the ordering and the wearing.
