Description

Up the leg the stripes stand. Over the foot they lie down.

They are blanket stripes: rust, mustard, a dusty denim blue, a dark olive green and a dark brown, with clusters of fine cream hairlines between the wide bands. On the shaft the bands run upright from the sole to the collar. On the tongue and across the toe they turn and run crosswise. Each rust band shades from gold along one edge, through rust, to a deep red along the other, and a fine woven grain runs through the bands, plainest in the blue and the brown. Above all of it, a deep collar of pale plush pile, and the stripes run up under it. It is more colour than most people will put on before ten in the morning, and it does not apologise for any of it.

From the ground up

  1. The sole: tall and chunky, square at the shoulder, cleated deep on the underside, so the lowest stripe sits well clear of the ground.
  2. The toe: round and full, which gives the crosswise bands their longest run at the very front.
  3. The laces: black round cord through five open eyelets on each row, and they pass through a small black keeper on the tongue on the way up.
  4. The studs: above those five, each row ends in two closed studs, sitting just under the pile.
  5. The collar: thick, plush and standing well proud of the stripes, the first thing about them that says winter.

The pictures cannot show what is inside: each boot carries a soft padded layer, and that layer is what keeps them warm.

Every half size from US 4.5 to 14 is in the run, both ends included. Nobody here asks you to choose between the number that pinches and the number that slips.

These are printed to order, a pair at a time, so the size menu does not thin out: there is no batch to run short of. The pair you get was printed for your order alone.

A tracking number lands in your inbox the moment the box leaves. Once a parcel crosses a border, import duty or tax may be charged on arrival by the customs office in the destination country.

Sizes, timing, and the rest

What sizes do these come in?

US 4.5 to 14, every half size, twenty sizes in all. Order by the size your foot measures rather than the size you usually buy: the run and the measuring guide live on the Size Chart.

Is there a wide fit on the Winter Boots?

Not on this line. The Wide fit is built into the Leather Boots, where every size comes in Standard and Wide and Wide runs 13 mm bigger around the foot. If room across the ball of the foot is the thing you need most, start there.

Will my size sell out?

No. Every pair is printed, cut and assembled after you order, so there is no shelf for a size to run out of and no half size that quietly disappears. What that buys you is availability, not speed: the workshop still needs its 5 to 10 business days.

How long until they are on my feet?

Your pair is made after you order: 5 to 10 business days at the workshop, then the journey. Inside the United States that journey runs 7 to 15 business days, the United Kingdom 10 to 18, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the EU 10 to 20, everywhere else 15 to 25. Most pairs land two to five weeks after checkout, and the Shipping tab above carries the same table.
